24TH May 2013
Dear Parents,
The Cayman Academy Home School Association will be having their final general meeting this Tuesday 28 May 2013 at 5:30pm in the school hall. All parents are asked to attend this final, mandatory meeting. The agenda will include H.S.A. activity and financial reports for the last academic year, information on proposals for the next school year and a parent feedback session. All families are asked to send at least one representative. The H.S.A. would like to encourage parents to bring their comments, suggestions and observations to this meeting so that the H.S.A., school administration and school board can utilize parents feedback in planning for the short, medium and long term for our children.
The school canteen management who like to remind all parents that outstanding canteen fees must be paid in full immediately and that no further credit will be given to students. Parents are asked to use the pre-payment or ticket system to pay for meals for the rest of the term.
As students prepare for their final internal and external examinations for this year, the H.S.A. would like to extend best wishes and God’s blessing for the success of all.
The H.S.A thanks you again for partnering with us in making the school the best place to study on the island.
Yours sincerely,
Angeline Shillingford
HSA President

The Head Girl for the High School is Rashida Smith who is from the West Bay Church.Rashida, who came to Cayman Academy at Year 5, has shown strong leadership potential from very early. An industrious and versatile student, she has represented the school in Spelling Bee, Debate, Track and Field and NCFA and has made the Honour Roll every year since she enrolled at Cayman Academy. Last year Rashida sat and was successful in 3 CXC subjects, gaining Grade 1 in all three.
Head Boy for the High School is Glen Mairena Canales. Glen is bilingual. Like his female counter part, he is industrious and hard working. Last school year, Glen represented the school in the Inter-Secondary Brain Bowl Competition. He attends the George Town church where he is an active member of the Teen Sabbath School.
Please pray that God will guide Rashida and Glen as they faithfully perform their duties.

August 28th was the first day of school for new students to Cayman Academy; returning students started school August 29th.There was excitement as well as anticipation among the students as they listened to the charges of inspiration delivered to them by Pastor W.G. McDonald and Pastor Shian O’Connor, President of the Cayman Conference. Along with the anticipation there were also a few tears shed by the new and younger students. But those tears were soon forgotten as new friendships were made and old acquaintences were renewed. The students were charged to put their best foot forward for the new school year and to always keep God close.
